SuperInstance builds on quilt — a runtime where cells don't just hold numbers, they watch each other, act on what they see, learn in public, and book every decision into a tamper-evident receipt chain. Below, four of those sheets are already alive. No screenshots. The cells are running.
A formula computes. A listener notices. A weight in a visible cell can be argued with, nudged, and improved — by you, or by the sheet itself.
Every rule — a trading clause, a poker read, a game's legality — is an inspectable cell you can click, question, and edit. Not a hidden function. The sheet is the spec.
Listeners fire when a cell changes: flash a rule, halt a trade, refuse a payment, play a move. Reactivity isn't a plugin — it's the substrate. The demos below run on it.
Weights live in cells you can watch drift. Improvement passes gates, and every promotion is a receipt in an fnv1a64 chain. You never have to trust the black box — the box is glass.
Each patch below runs on a tiny reactive engine embedded in this page — the same semantics as the full quilt runtime: value cells, formulas with declared dependencies, listeners that fire on change. The mini-console in every patch is real engine traffic, sampled, not theater.
A tide field where every cell is a cell. The wave formula
h′ = (Σhₙ)/2 − h propagates energy through the grid; a listener on the
tide gauge lights the foam when |h| crosses the surge line. Drop a stone and watch
the cascade — reactivity as physics.
Two agents share one board sheet: TIDE reads a positional weight map,
TERRA counts mobility. The pick formula evaluates every legal move;
a listener applies the pick — which re-triggers the formula. The sheet plays itself.
When a game ends, the loser's weight cells drift toward what beat it. You are
watching the learning loop, not a replay of one.
Pot odds are mechanical — a formula cell gets them for free, costing
zero attention. The game happens elsewhere: across flop, turn and river, the
shape formula reads OPP's bet sizes into a decision-shape — looseness,
aggression, deception — and a listener speaks the read out loud. Slide
focus down and your own cards literally fade into the environment, the way a
good player's attention already has.
A backtest where the tape, the indicators and the risk clause are all
cells. The twist learned the hard way in quilt-quant/lab: a signal is a
proposal, not an oracle — entries wait for a confirmation cell, and each entry can
be validated by a true-random draw from a rationed quantum budget (mocked here,
metered like the real moth-quantum API). Perception costs something; the meter keeps the score.
Scored on the four things SuperInstance is actually about. Not a claim of superiority everywhere — a claim of a different point on the map.

Every project below is the same claim tested in a new realm: rules as cells, effects as value pushes, learning as visible cell updates, decisions booked as receipts. None of the later projects needed new engine code — the abstraction held.
12 engine patches, an 11-probe dissent ledger, gesture math, federation — the engine learned to be trusted.
36/36 upstream tests kept greenTen tools in ten realms — pagers, ledgers, memory, triage, budgets — proving the template ships real software.
75/75 checksFive games as spreadsheets — reversi, gomoku, hold'em — rules as cells, flip cascades, visible learning loops.
55/55 checksThe trading desk as a sheet: one value push re-prices everything; improvement only through an out-of-sample gate.
15/15 checks vs reference stackThe sheet IS the agent — simulation-first, signal-as-confirmation, entanglement veto, pruning by participation.

Hand a mind a bred law and ration its probes. Adaptive economies recover off-spec life masks in 8 answers; mechanical never recovers ground truth at all. The sheet's reflex scars on a channel lie — and belief refuses to absorb it.
